Free Kindle books are only free for a short time.
Periodically I make my Kindle books free. When that happens, they are only free for an extremely short time. Amazon allows Independent authors who list their books exclusively on Amazon to make their books free for a few days each quarter. Those free books don’t stay free forever. As an author, I don’t mind if you buy the book at the regular price. In fact, I’m happy that some people do pay the full price. But I periodically make my books free in the hopes that the readers who haven’t tried one of my books in the past will give me a try.
How do you find out about free David Joel Miller books?
Whenever I run a book free on Amazon, I create a blog post to tell people about it. I try not to overdo the blog posts about my writing because I know not everyone who subscribes to the blog will be interested in my books. I’ve noticed that some people are clicking on the free book posts after the offer has expired. I wanted to give you a heads up on how to get the books for free if that interests you.
Hints for getting David Joel Miller books for free.
I generally offer free books on Wednesdays. You could simply check my blog every Wednesday or, better yet, check it every day. If you subscribe to the blog by email, make sure you read the email the day it arrives.
My Christmas gift to you.
Some of you will be home looking for something to do over the holidays. I plan to offer several of my books for free that week. You might want to check the blog every day between December 23 and December 27.
Kindle Unlimited is a way to get to read my books for free all the time.
If you have a subscription to Kindle Unlimited, all my books are currently enrolled in that service, and you can read as many of them as you want with no extra charge. This works great for both of us. You get unlimited reading, and I, as an author who has enrolled my books on Kindle Unlimited, get paid for the pages you read.
Do you have to do anything to get a free book?
Once you have clicked on the book, it’s yours, no strings attached. I do hope you will read it. One of the reasons authors give away free books is in the hopes of getting more book reviews. Amazon book reviews don’t need to be long and detailed, just the number of stars you give it and a short phrase or sentence about your reading experience. Every author hopes for a lot of positive reviews, but Amazon tells us we should request honest reviews. If there’s something you didn’t like about the book, you can certainly say that. It’s also helpful if you think this book would appeal to a particular type of reader that you mentioned that in your review.
Why are there blank spots on the picture of the book covers?
I am working on several more books that will be coming out in the new year. I’ll let you know as they are published.
